I’m not sure why, but all of the Osaka showings were a lot more rushed and finished earlier than the Tokyo events (if you’ve read those reports). They didn’t dawdle as much and introduced their lesson content immediately (to save time maybe? I have no idea).
A/N: Japanese is not my first language so there is room for error. I've tried to capture the gist of the lessons to the best of my ability and memory, but obviously I was unable to take notes about everything in time (plus my brain kind of freezes when I try to switch between taking notes in English/Japanese). You'll also probably see a strong bias towards two particular members…but I'm not sorry about that ^^; Enjoy!

As the school chime rang to signal the start of Waku Waku Gakkou, the banner with the school logo in the centre of the stage spun and was raised up. Then, a VTR started showing each of the members 'transforming' into Waku Waku Gakkou teachers.
The VTR showcased each member individually (J→Sho→Nino→Aiba→Ohno) and in various different settings. I don't know why, but the VTR was captioned with English.

'Jun Matsumoto in Photo Shooting'
Showed J posing for a camera and a series of still photo shoot images. After a few stills, J made a surprised face as he stared at the cameraman and noticed that there was a small Waku Waku Gakkou logo just above the camera lens. Upon noticing it, there was some sparkly purple CG effect and he spun on the spot and transformed into Matsumoto Sensei (in his purple lab coat) and slapped the Waku Waku Logo onto his coat and posed.
'Sho Sakurai in Ima Kono Kao Ga Sugoi'
Showed Sho coming off the set of his TV show Ima Kono Kao Ga Sugoi and heading to sit down at a desk in front of a pizza box. He opened the lid of the pizza box and made a surprised face, and then we were shown that the pizza in the box had the Waku Waku logo on it. Sho stood up and spun on the spot before transforming into Sakurai Sensei and slapping his red Waku Waku logo onto his coat and posing.
'Kazunari Ninomiya in Bay Storm'
Everyone screamed when the VTR showed Nino sitting in his recording studio and the radio staff gave him a countdown to the start of Bay Storm. It sounded exactly like his radio does so it was really exciting to be able to see footage of what Nino would look like during Bay Storm every week. He started his radio as he usually does, with 'Good Evening, this is Arashi's Kazunari Ninomiya.' (こんばんは、嵐の和也二宮です。)and then moved on to read the post card in his hand only to find that there was a Waku Waku logo on the back of the post card in the place where a message should have been. He made a surprised face and then stood up, spun on the spot and transformed into Ninomiya Sensei, slapping his yellow badge onto his coat and making a cute pose. [pic]
'Masaki Aiba in Aiba Manabu'
Showed Aiba in his Manabu outfit (the vest and shirt) checking his appearance in a long mirror. He then turned to the table, on top of which a glasses case had been placed. He reached for the case and opened it, his eyes going extremely wide as he made a shocked face. The camera showed that the glasses in the case had Waku Waku logos on the lenses. Aiba picked up the glasses and them put them on (like he does in Manabu) and then he grinned at the camera, spun on the spot and turned into Aiba Sensei. He slapped on his green badge and made the same pose as he does at the end of his Rakuen performance.
'Satoshi Ohno in Sketching'
Showed Ohno outdoors with an easel and a paintbrush in hand, working on a landscape artwork. He dipped his paintbrush into a bucket of water and swirled it around, only to see that the water in the bucket started to swirl. He withdrew his paintbrush and the camera showed the 'water' int he bucket turning into white paint with the Waku Waku logo in it (some reverse camera technique I assume). Seeing this, Ohno made an exaggerated confused/surprised "Eh?" face, got up and transformed into Ohno Sensei. He slapped on his blue badge and posed like Nino did.
→ gifs of VTR
The VTR then zoomed out to an aerial view of Kyocera Dome, with all 5 members' colours swirling out of the Dome and forming the Waku Waku Gakkou logo. Then the VTR cut to a live camera showing the members in the backstage hallway. They were all holding their Waku Waku lesson folders out in front of them as they smiled for the camera, saying 'Good evening' to everyone. Then they started running down the hallway towards the door to the entrance of the Dome with shouting various things such as “すごい人ですね!” (“What an amazing turn-up”) and replying each other with “すごい人だ!” (It’s amazing!”) etc.
The Dome exploded as they appeared through the doors and waved to everyone, half-jogging their way up the slope to the stage. Once all the members had reached the stage they lined up (Ohno→Nino→Sho→J→Aiba) and welcomed everyone to Waku Waku Gakkou. Sho got everyone to stand up (like they do in Japanese schools) and we bowed to the teachers. As we sat back down the members started talking, thanking us all for coming. They all addressed each other as Sensei. Nino commented that Waku Waku had started again for the year, and turned to Aiba to ask what he thought of it. Aiba replied that it was amazing, and that this was already the second time they were having this event. J asked who in the audience were first-timers to Waku Waku Gakkou, and who had 'graduated' from Waku Waku Gakkou in 2012 but had come again this year. They were surprised to see that the majority of the Dome had already attended at least once before. Next, Sho assumed a MC role and made a statement that was like “Whether you are a first-timer here or have been here before, we (Arashi) are supporting you and your studies (at Waku Waku)!” and was sounding all serious and encouraging but halfway through Sho’s line J jumped (skipped? XD) through the frame and interrupted Sho XD
J introduced the school 'motto', 「日々是気付」and asked us to say it along with him. Then they moved on to talk about the importance of noticing tiny things in every day life, and asked if anyone had noticed what they had done this time.
The VTR showed the inside of the Dome, where all the seats were. It was probably filmed an hour or a bit more before the start of the show, and people were still slowly filling up the seats. The VTR showed soap bubbles floating through the air and shots of various people reaching up and catching the falling bubbles. Arashi asked if anyone noticed the bubbles and a lot of people said “Yes!”. Next, the VTR revealed the source of the bubbles, which turned out to be a small ledge/viewing box at the very top of the Dome (a bit to the left to where me and my friend were sitting!!!) that had a purple cloth covering it partly. Then the camera zoomed into that viewing box and showed J and Aiba crouching there with a bottle of bubble liquid in their hands and blowing bubbles from the ledge into the Dome. In the VTR Aiba was struggling with the bubble liquid, and accidentally let some of it drip.
(`∀´ル) You’ll get the people down below wet!!
Aiba laughed and shrugged it off and then continued blowing bubbles. The Dome was surprised at the revelation of the source of the bubbles, but when Arashi asked if anyone had noticed J and Aiba I don’t think there was anyone who did. Sho said it wasn’t surprising because “It’s impossible (to notice) if you consider the angle” (people in the Dome would have to look directly up to notice J and Aiba). They talked a bit more after the VTR ended and then Arashi wrapped up this segment, asking us to continue noticing the tiny things which may happen in our everyday lives.
The teacher for the first lesson was introduced and the VTR changed to show Ninomiya Sensei in his lab coat with a yellow background (they used the photos that are on the Waku Waku Gakkou clearfiles this year) with the caption 'Teacher' in English (why…) in the bottom left corner. Nino made his way to the teacher's podium while the rest of the members took off their lab coats, handed them to staff and then made their way to their desks. Sho and J sat in the front two desks and Aiba and Ohno sat in the back (Aiba behind Sho, Ohno behind J).
Lesson #1: Ninomiya Sensei - スヤスヤ (Suya Suya)
Nino bowed and started his lesson, thanking everyone for their attention. He introduced his lesson immediately, saying he’d be talking about sleep and its importance. He started off talking about dreams, and said that we've now reached an era where we can find out many things from the contents of our dreams, and said he'd like to analyse his own dream today.
Nino brought up an illustration of his own dream, which depicted himself being chased by Piko-san at TBS. Apparently, having this kind of dream means that one is unrealistic/impractical, but also has sharp senses (i.e. can read the atmosphere well). There is also the likelihood that he is in a rush about his job.
At this point, J interrupted Sensei and said that one needs to get good sleep to dream and then offered to investigate Nino’s sleeping habits.
(`∀´ル) スヤスヤセット、いっらしゃい〜
Welcome, the Suya Suya set~!
With this, Nino’s bed was raised from beneath the stage onto the stage. It had white sheets with a brown blanket. The bed itself looked a lot like Aiba’s (Just saying XD Maybe they were too lazy to get another bed...or maybe they do have very similar beds haha).
Once the bed was prepared, J said that he’d like to analyse if Nino has problems with his sleeping habits. Hearing this, Sho told Nino that he should have the best sleep score, since he is the Sensei of the lesson after all. Nino took off his shoes and climbed into bed, under his blanket. J explained that if he doesn’t manage to score at least 80 points, something bad will happen (his bed will roll down the slope). Nino, while lying in bed, said he was confident he’d pass.
(.゚ー゚) 自信ある!
I have confidence!
Q: What clothes do you sleep in?
A: White T-shirt and jeans.
Nino picked up a sample shirt and pair of jeans, and when he said ‘Jeans’, the Dome and the rest of Arashi were like “Ehhh??” because well yeah, normal people don’t do that...
(‘◇‘) おしゃれね!
How stylish!
Nino explained that he generally just wore to bed whatever he was going to wear the next day.
(‘◇‘) Isn’t that what one does when they’re in elementary school?
(`∀´ル) Is it because it’s (getting changed in the morning) troublesome?
(.゚ー゚) Yes.
(`∀´ル) So you wear the next day’s clothes to sleep?
(.゚ー゚) Yes. I even wear down jackets sometimes.
(`∀´ル) In winter, right?
(.゚ー゚) Yes.
Q: Do you have any requirements for your bed?
A: Nothing special in particular. Just a normal mattress, and a thinner blanket in summer. And a memory foam pillow.
Q: Do you do anything before you sleep?
A: Game in bed.
Nino imitated holding a handheld console (while still lying on his back) and playing a game. J asked if he turns it off before he sleeps, and Nino answered that he plays until he gets sleepy and then turns off his console. When asked if he gets up to turn off his bedroom lights, Nino said that he had a remote-controlled light system so he didn’t need to get out of bed.
Q: What do you use to wake up? Alarm clock? Your phone?
A: Phone alarm, a machine gun sound.
(.゚ー゚) すぐ起きたいから
Because I want to wake up immediately.
(The alarm is played over the speakers so everyone in the Dome can hear it)
(`・3・´) こわぇー!
(That’s) Scary!
J asked “Doesn’t that scare you?” but Nino replied that he didn’t think there was much difference between the ji ji ji sound a normal alarm sound makes and the da da da da of a machine gun alarm sound, so he didn’t think it was scary. Nino was lying in bed looking relaxed the whole time he was being questioned by J XD
After this, J said he had gathered enough information. He restated that 80/100 was the pass mark and summarised the results of members whos sleep habits had been tested so far (himself, Ohno and Aiba) in the previous Waku Waku events. Nino’s bed was then raised and J said he would reveal Nino’s sleep score. (Actually J had already brought out the button that is pressed to let the bed fall XD)
(.゚ー゚) 120点でしょ?先生だから落ちたら怒るよー!
I got 120 points right? I’m the Sensei so if I fall (down the ramp) I’ll get angry!
Arashi laughed and Nino lay in bed waiting for his score to be revealed on the monitors. The digits ticked by and ended up landing on...72!
(.゚ー゚) えっ!?!
Eh!?!
(`∀´ル) 残念でした!
Too bad!
(.゚ー゚) 信じられない!
I don’t believe this!
(`∀´ル) 言ってもらいたいと思います。おやすみー!
I’m happy to be able to say this---Good night!
With his “Good night!”, J pressed the button and Nino’s bed rolled off the stage and down the ramp. Nino just lay in bed and made no sound the whole way.
(.゚ー゚) こんなことさせられたってさあ...
To have let something like this happen to me...
(`・3・´) 潤くんが先生になるよ!
Jun-kun will become the Sensei (of this lesson)!
(.゚ー゚) それはマズイよ!
That’s bad!
They joked around a bit more and Nino got out of bed, put on a pair of slippers and started walking back to the stage. J replayed the footage of Nino sliding silently down the ramp and the Dome laughed at how expressionless he had been.
(.゚ー゚) もう怒ってるさ。
I was already angry (and that’s why I was expressionless)!
Once Nino made his way back to his seat, J revealed why Nino had deserved the score that he had received. Firstly, wearing jeans to bed is a big no-no because it makes you sweat and puts stress on your body. Also, T-shirts are bad because you lose too much body heat. Next, using a machine gun alarm is also a big no-no (絶対ダメ!)because it’s too noisy and blaring and unsettles your sleep and can also make you forgot any dreams you might have had. The third ダメ bad point of Nino’s sleep habits is his habit of gaming before bed. This is bad because the screen of the console is too bright and stimulates your brain too much before sleep, making it difficult for you to calm down and achieve good sleep. Hearing this, Sho took the opportunity to endorse JINS PC and suggested Nino buy a pair. J added that looking at your phone screen before sleeping is also bad (same reasons). With this, J concluded his analysis of Nino’s sleep habits and Nino thanked him and they switched positions, Nino resuming his Sensei role and J taking his seat.
Next Nino explained that he would teach us how to control our dreams, namely, dream about what we want to dream about and see who we want to see. He said that he had gathered some data from the audience who had attended Tokyo’s Waku Waku events and participated in the surveys. By 09:00 on the morning of 2013.06.30, 8033 people had participated in the Dream Experiment, and 2499/8033 (~31%) had reported an Arashi member(s) in their dreams that night through use of the technique Nino had taught them. The results of the second day was 3634/8814 (41%).
Nino said that he thought the results were amazing, and proceeded to read out a few of the dreams that had been submitted (for the night lesson Nino taught us how to dream a fishing date with Ohno - 2013.06.30 @ 17:00).
① I was at the aquarium and saw Ohno swimming with the fish in the tanks.
② I dreamt that Ohno and Nino were out fishing together in the ocean. Nino caught a big fish but Ohno didn’t catch anything, so Ohno phoned Sho and got Sho to pick him up and take him home.
③ I was with Jun in the sea and Jun started singing an ‘Ocean Song’, and at the end of the song he said ほら、歌ー!(Here, Sing!) and said that Sho-kun liked this (Ocean) song.
④ I was at a Game Center playing a fishing game and got a new Top Score. Then, Ohno peeked over from the machine next to me and said おめでとうございます!(Congratulations!)
Nino said that there were actually a mails that came in which said that one or more other Arashi members appeared in their dreams. This time, Nino used Aiba as the example for the experiment and asked him to get up and stand in front of a backdrop. It was a festival setting, with fireworks and festival stalls--- A Matsuri (festival) date!
(.゚ー゚) 今日は相葉くんー!
Today (we’ll use) Aiba-kun!
(.゚ー゚) バカだからお祭りデートしかないかな。
Since he’s an idiot, we’ve got no choice but to go with a Matsuri (festival) date, huh!
(‘◇‘) そういうこと言うと、PTAに言いますからね。
If you say something like that, I’ll take this to the PTA (Parents-Teachers Association)!
(.゚ー゚) 戦うぞ、先生は!
Sensei will fight you!
(‘◇‘) いや、わかりました、止めましょう先生。
Okay, I get it. Let’s stop here, Sensei.
After this Aimiya-full banter (hehe :D), Aiba moved over to the backdrop and put on a festival mask. Nino asked us to get out the small business-card sized piece of paper we had received from the staff as we entered the Dome and explained that these cards were scented. He asked us to try smelling it and then distributed cards to the other members while Aiba ‘got ready’ in front of the backdrop.
(‘◇‘) 会えるかな〜
I wonder if we’ll be able to meet~
Once all the members received a scented card and Aiba was ready (he had picked up one of those goldfish scooping nets you get at matsuri stalls too xD), Nino started some ‘matsuri’ music and asked us to commit this scene Aiba was portraying to our memories while sniffing the card.
Aiba was really cute acting out a matsuri date, saying stuff like “What do you want to eat next?” and then “Eh, Choco Banana? But you already ate one...!”, pretending that he was actually on a date with someone. After perhaps 10 seconds, Nino stopped the music and told us that if we put the scented card near our pillow where we could smell it as we slept, we would be able to meet Aiba on a matsuri date in our dreams. He asked Aiba to give a final few words to conclude the segment.
今日楽しかったね。バイバイって、終電なくなったな。ウチ、泊りに来る?
(Today was fun, wasn’t it? I’d say Bye-bye, but the last train has gone! Stay over at mine?)
The Dome erupted in squeals and Arashi laughed, while Nino complained that Aiba’s line was too long and asked him to try again and say something that was shorter and had more impact (so that it’d be easier for us to remember and dream about). So, Aiba tried again...
俺、ソファーで寝るから、ベッド使っていいよ!
(I’ll sleep on the sofa, so feel free to use the bed!)
Then, Nino gave us a web address (http://js-cp.jp/wkwk) where we could submit our responses (password めざまし) to his 'experiment' and provide him with data on whether this technique worked or not. (He sounded really cute reading out the URL in 'English' :D) It seems like this is the first time this kind of experiment has been carried out worldwide! (Though honestly I doubt the reliability of the data XD)
Nino wrapped up his lesson saying that sleep is important, and that if we are able to achieve good sleep, we can have good dreams, we will feel more refreshed in the morning, breakfast will taste better, etc. etc. and showed some data about how Japanese people don't treasure sleep as much as other countries (Japan average 470 minutes of sleep a night, c.f. Australians 513 minutes). Apparently, we spend 1/3 of our lives sleeping, so someone who lives to 80 will have spent 27 years of their lives asleep. He then introduced a VTR showing a man who was unable to sleep for a long number of years, and quoted that the man said the toughest thing about not being able to sleep is that he is not able to dream. To be not able to dream means that you can only see what is reality, and that is a bitter prospect. Next was a segment about a Stanford University basketball team who found that if their players achieved 10 hours of good sleep a night, their free throw shooting percentage would be raised by 10%. After this VTR, Ninomiya Sensei concluded his lesson his message:
「正しい睡眠でいい夢を見れば、人生のうちで27年がハッピー(和也)」
(If you have good dreams through sleeping well, 27 years of your life will be happy ---Kazunari)
After this message was displayed, Nino introduced the teacher for the next lesson, left the podium, handed his lab coat to a staff and then took Sho's seat. Sho made his way to the teacher's podium and put on his lab coat.
Lesson #2: Sakurai Sensei - チャリンチャリン (Charin Charin)
Sho introduced his lesson immediately, flicking a coin into the air and saying he'd be talking about money. Sho asked who in the audience wanted to learn how to appreciate money more and learn more about money and pretty much everyone in the Dome raised their hand. J raised both his arms up, and Nino was also fast to yell はい!はい!(Yes! Yes!)
Sho said that in America, kids are taught from elementary school about money and it’s importance, but in Japan people don’t really talk about money openly. He then started his lesson with a Money Quiz, where he displayed two items found in ordinary Japanese schools and we had to select the item we thought was more expensive.
Round 1:
百葉箱 (a box for outdoor meteorological instruments) vs. Blackboard
百葉箱: J
Blackboard: Aiba, Nino, Ohno
Reasoning:
J said that 百葉箱 should be produced in bulk and thus cheaper. When Ohno was asked why he chose Blackboard, Ohno said that he thought the two choices were actually pretty similar in price, but since blackboards are more important, they should be more expensive (did not follow his logic at all XD).
Sho suggested a price for the blackboard, but Ohno said そんなバカ高くない!(It’s not that stupidly expensive!) and estimated it to be around 100,000 yen. Having heard enough from the members, Sho turned to the audience and asked us to raise our hands in turn to vote for choice A or B. After we voted, Sho said he had no idea which choice received more votes because there was no way he could count all the hands (duh XD) so he asked us to vote via applause instead XD
Answer:
百葉箱 - 350,000 yen
Blackboard - 260,000 yen
J made a fighting pose with both fists when he heard he was correct. Apparently the 百葉箱 made for use in Northern and Southern Hemispheres are different and they are hand-crafted so they are more expensive than blackboards.
Round 2:
人体模型 (those anatomical models of the human body we have in science class where you can remove all the internal organs...) vs. 二宮金次郎の銅像 (copper statue of some famous guy named 二宮金次郎)
Anatomical model: Aiba, Nino, J, Ohno
Copper statue: N/A
Reasoning:
Nino: うちのおじいさん... (He started talking about the copper statue as being a statue of his (great-great-(? XD) grandfather (勝手に思う))and saying it shouldn’t be that expensive... He said the anatomical model should be expensive because it has so many parts and all those parts would take a long time to make, especially since it’s not uncommon for parts to go missing. He said that some internal organs from the anatomical model at his elementary school had been taken home by students over the years xD
Aiba backed up Nino, saying all the parts needed to be made and painted by hand, so it should be more expensive to produce than a copper statue.
Answer:
人体模型 - 1,000,000 yen
二宮金次郎の銅像 - 800,000 yen
(The price for the anatomical model was revealed first, and Sho asked Ohno whether he wanted to change his mind after seeing its price, but Ohno said “No...” XD)
Apparently the anatomical model is more expensive because indeed all the parts are painted by hand, and also made in Germany! Also, the original copper model of 二宮金次郎 costs 1,500,000 yen...
After the quiz, Sho moved on, asking what we thought when we paid for items in a shop. He explained that the Japanese kanji for yen, 円, can be seen as a symbol representing two hands clapping, and thus when we spend money and pay for items, for example when we pay 100円, we are actually clapping 100 times for the people who were involved in the production of the product. As an example, he brought out a couple of pink coloured pencils, which can be bought for about 50 yen each, and asked us how many people we thought were involved in its production. He revealed the answer through a VTR. During the VTR Nino was continuously writing in his folder again, J was drinking water, Ohno just sat there staring blankly, and Aiba flipped through his folder and combed his fingers through his hair (mostly his fringe) XD
The VTR moved through various stages of the production of a coloured pencil (from harvesting of the materials for the core to the putting together of the pencil) and counted the number of people involved, which ended up totalling 102 people. Sho concluded that when we pay 50 yen in purchasing the pencil, we are offering 50 claps of gratitude to these 102 people. In other words, we can consider the flow of money to be a flow of expressions of gratitude, and that we should think of having a lot of money as having the ability to express gratitude to a lot of people.
He then gave the example of a man who would give taxi drivers a tip of 100-200 yen each time he took a taxi, on one hand to express his gratitude to the driver, but also to put a smile on the driver's face, putting him in a good mood when he meets his next passenger. As a result, the next passenger is more likely to feel happy, and the flow of gratitude is more likely to continue.
「お金がつなぐ、感謝の連鎖(翔)」
(Connected to money is a chain of gratitude--- Sho)
Sho concluded his lesson with this message and then introduced the next teacher, Aiba Sensei! He handed his coat to a member of staff and then Aiba made his way to the podium, putting on his lab coat. A makeshift kitchen and dining table was wheeled onto the left side of the stage.
Lesson #3: Aiba Sensei - パクパク (Paku Paku)
Aiba Sensei introduced his lesson, Paku Paku, and asked if Arashi was feeling hungry.
(`・3・´) 先生いつもいいタイミング!
Sensei always has such great timing!
Hearing what Aiba’s lesson was, Nino caught him out and accused him of doing the same lesson two years in a row. Aiba acknowledged this and explained what he did last year, and then introduced that this year he’d be focussing on vegetables, '相葉印野菜' ('Aiba-marked vegetables’).
Aiba showed a VTR which showed him going to various farms and picking the vegetables himself. During this VTR, the members moved to the dining table(Nino sat to the left of Ohno on one side, with Sho sitting opposite him and J sitting opposite Ohno)whilst Aiba changed into an apron and got ready behind the kitchen counter. Ohno and Nino sat down first and there was a bit of Ohmiya going on with Nino fixing Ohno’s hair and making sure he was okay.
While Aiba got ready behind the counter, the members at the table had already started eating the pickled side dishes on the table. Aiba saw them doing this and told them to stop eating the toppings and look at the vegetables that had been prepared instead. An assortment of vegetables had been prepared on the counter, including tomatoes, lettuce, asparagus, pumpkin, potato, cabbage. Aiba asked if there was any vegetable in particular the members wanted to eat. Nino yelled ‘Corn!’, Sho ‘Tomato!’ and J requested ‘Okonomiyaki’ (because we were in Osaka). Instead, Aiba settled on making a speciality of Chichibu, Potato Soba (じゃがそば)because he said that people in Osaka should already know how to make Okonomiyaki so he thought he’d teach a dish that wasn’t from the region.
Aiba asked Sho to assist, and Sho again said “Yeah!” as each ingredient was introduced. When Aiba introduced the Wooster (Worcestershire) Sauce, J butted in and mentioned that Aiba had once gotten Oyster and Wooster sauces mixed up, and Nino asked Aiba to reconfirm which one it was (Wooster XD). Next, Aiba got Sho to cut the cabbage, saying big pieces were okay (they really were big xD). Sho had been chopping with a knife, but Aiba leaned over and told him he could just use his hands to tear up the cabbage, since “It’s just us (Arashi)” who were going to eat the food. Aiba got ready to heat the pan~
(.゚ー゚) 油?
(How much) oil?
(‘◇‘) 一秒!
1 second!
(`∀´ル) 量お願いします...
Please give us proper measurements...
Although J requested he use conventional measurements, Aiba continued his recipe in ‘seconds’ xD While Aiba started frying the meat, onion and ginger, Nino commented that Aiba should definitely appear in our dreams tonight since he was making yakisoba (which is a food currently eaten at matsuris).
(.゚ー゚) 結構うまそう、先生!
Looks pretty good, Sensei!
Still stirfrying, Aiba added salt next. Salt - 5 seconds! Everyone “Ehh?!?!”-ed him and Nino pointed at Aiba, laughing at him.
(.゚ー゚) 大丈夫?!
Is this really okay?!
Aiba hushed him and reassured him it’d taste good so he shouldn’t worry. Continuing to stirfry, Aiba commented that it was smelling good, and ‘pushed’ some of the smell towards Sho so that Sho could smell it too.
(`・3・´) 玉ねぎかな?キャベツかな?それとも君かな?
(Does it smell good) Because of the onion? Or is it the cabbage? Or... is it you (Aiba)?
*Dome Kyaas XD*
Next, Aiba added olive oil to the frypan very generously.
(`∀´ル) ちょっとワイルドすぎる!
(You’re being) A little too wild!
(.゚ー゚) でも美味しそう!
But it looks delicious!
Aiba had asked Sho to microwave the packaged noodles, and Sho stood by the machine counting down along with the timer. When it ding-ed, he removed the noodle packet from the microwave and tore it open, only to find that it was very hot! (あっちゃ!!!) Aiba was still stirfrying, so he directed Sho to add the sauces. Wooster sauce - 5 seconds!
(.゚ー゚) 5秒って長いよ!
5 seconds is (too) long!
Even though Aiba was saying all these measurements in ‘seconds’, when he actually added each of the ingredients, they never matched up with his counting. For example, when he said Wooster sauce for 5 seconds, he’d only really add it for 1 or 2 seconds, and when he said to add something else for 1 second, he’d end up adding it for 3 or more seconds XD
The yakisoba was done, and Aiba distributed them amongst the members plates and Nino got up to help Sho pass out the plates. As Sho passed each plate to Nino, Nino would say “Blue-kun!”, “Murasaki (purple)-kun!” and then pass them to the respective people. When Sho had the yellow plate, he said “Yellow!” and then gave it to Nino. J looked at his plate and said he had no vegetables XD Nino showed his plate to the camera and it looked really yummy *__* Once the members sat down with their plates of food, Aiba walked around to the table and said あんたさき食べたけど You guys were already eating it earlier but...These are the toppings xD
Aiba watched as the 4 members ate. There were various calls of うまい!(Yum!) and おいしい!and Aiba talked a bit about some of the ingredients that had been used in the recipe, saying that one was recently often used in French cuisine (I forgot which XD).
(.゚ー゚) ええ、先生すごい!
Ehh, Sensei’s amazing!
After letting the members eat for a bit, Aiba said that the ‘main’ was yet to come out.
(`・3・´) 出してよ!
(Hurry up and) Bring it out!
Aiba brought out the ‘main’, which was a plate of (uncooked) vegetables, this time cabbage and potato. Sho picked up a piece of cabbage and started eating it, making really loud crunching noises. Ohno also picked up a piece of cabbage and started nibbling on it.
(‘◇‘) いい音!ウサギみたい!
(That’s a) Nice sound! You’re like rabbits!
Hearing this, Ohno and Sho both hastened their biting of the carrot, and crunched louder and more like rabbits XD Aiba said that eating them raw is the most delicious way because these vegetables are in season right now. Upon this, he started another VTR that showed more footage of him visiting farms and harvesting asparagus (and eating it raw) as well as some of the other vegetables.
Whilst the VTR played, Aiba left the stage first. Sho got up to leave but sat down again to eat a little more. After Sho left, Nino, J and Ohno stood up, had a sip to drink and then left too. Once they all left the stage, the desks and teacher's podium did a 180 degree rotation, after which the members returned to the stage (N → A → S → O → J) and took their respective positions at their desks. Nino gave Sho a bottle of water and Aiba stood at the teacher’s podium fanning himself with his hand and wiping his sweat. He kept looking like he was trying to take off his lab coat because he was hot, but couldn’t because he was still the Sensei and had to finish his lesson.
(At the Tokyo events Nino would be commenting here and there throughout Aiba’s VTR, but this time he was silent and was pretty much just continuously writing down stuff in his folder...).The VTR showed Aiba visiting a potato farm and talking with the owner, who taught Aiba how to best harvest potatoes (with your bare hands, so you can feel the soil beneath your fingers). In the VTR, Aiba asked the oji-san farmer if he could eat the potato he had just harvested (raw). The farmer looked surprised but told Aiba it was okay to eat it after he gave it a rinse. Aiba sounded really excited and then the VTR showed him biting into the raw potato, with difficulty.
He emphasised that the vegetables that are in season are the most delicious, and that we should keep this in mind the next time we're grocery shopping at the supermarket. He then taught us that the usual four seasons we know, Summer, Autumn, Winter & Spring, can actually be split into 24 segments, and further into 72 segments (七十二候), meaning that there is roughly a new "season" every 5 days, in which a different variety of vegetable/vegetation is at its peak. He gave a few examples (the examples given in each Waku Waku event are different) and then ended his lesson.
「旬をいただき、季節を感じよう(雅紀)」
(Take in what's 'in season' and experience the seasons--- Masaki)
Aiba introduced the next teacher, Matsumoto Sensei, and they swapped positions, taking off/putting on lab coats respectively.
Lesson #4: Matsumoto Sensei - チクタク (Chiku Taku)
J jumped straight into his lesson, saying it was going to be about Time. He talked about the school chime that had been rung to signal the start of Waku Waku Gakkou, and explained that there have been a range of different school bell systems in the past, from the loud (what I imagine as the ones that exist in Fire Stations) ringing types to hand-held bells, to chimes. Then, he motioned towards a wooden box with a glass door that had been brought on stage, which turned out to be the very instrument responsible for making the Waku Waku Gakkou chime. It seems that it was the first chime of its kind in Japan, created 56 years ago and especially brought to the Dome today from a primary school. Apparently, its origins with a professor who wanted to make students more excited about attending school, and thus did various experiments and found that the best classical music bell sound is that of the Big Ben clock tower. Whilst providing these explanations J opened the door of the box encasing the chime and pressed a button, and immediately we heard the chime that had been played at the beginning of Waku Waku Gakkou (at the Tokyo events we had to wait 30 seconds for the chime to ring! I wonder what they did XD). The cameraman zoomed in on the metal tongs in action, and all of the members sounded amazed that such an old instrument was still useable.
Next, J explained that he wanted to use the Arashi members in an experiment, to see how much one could get done in 1 minute. In other words, it was running time! Except this time, they had to ride bicycles (four bikes had been wheeled onto the grass around the Dome and lined up at the start line). J revealed that he would let one member get away with riding at their own pace.
(.゚ー゚)あら!やった!
Yay!
J brought out a big cardboard box and said that it contained 3 white balls and 1 golden ball, and that whoever picked out the gold one didn't have to give their all. At the Tokyo events the members janken-ed to decide the order they would pick from the box in, but today they just all stuck their hands into the box at once.
(‘◇‘) Eh, who’s hand is that!
(.゚ー゚) Don’t grasp my hand!!
Aiba ended up getting the yellow ball, and was very happy since it was his first time :) J asked the members to go get ready with their bikes. Sho ran down the slope, Nino and Aiba jogged slowly and Ohno walked XD
(.゚ー゚) This bike is so tall!!
(No Nino, you're just short XD)
Once they were at the start line on their bikes (in the order A → S → O → N), J got ready to start the timer. However, it was a false start, and while Sho, Ohno and Nino had raced forwards on their bikes, Aiba (because he didn’t have to try) did a 360 degree turn and returned to the start line XD
The second time J started the timer properly, and the members minus Aiba started riding as fast as they could. Nino was surprisingly fast and had the lead the entire time!! (Followed by Sho and then Ohno XD) Aiba rode freely and slowly, riding right up to the barriers where the audience was and waving to everyone happily.
(.゚ー゚) もう辛いかも、先生!
I don’t think I can last much longer, Sensei!
(`∀´ル) 頑張れ!
Keep it up!
Nino kept his lead, almost catching up to Aiba (he was about 10 metres away from him when the 1 minute was up). As soon as the minute was up, all three who had been cycling to all their might got off their bikes and collapsed to the floor. Ohno was panting with his hands on his knees, and Nino took the opportunity to go over to him and poke him a few times XD Meanwhile, J revealed how far they had cycled and then asked them to come back to the stage. Aiba said he was slow and didn’t make it very far because he had been busy waving and smiling to everyone. Ohno stumbled a little bit trying to get back up the stairs to the stage, and Nino helped him a bit.
As the members returned one by one to the stage, Jun revealed the aim of this segment of his lesson, which was to realise that one person who tries their best for 1 minute and one person who doesn't try at all for 1 minute, if this effort is extended to an hour, a day, a year… after 10 years, the difference between what someone who has tried has achieved and someone who hasn't tried has achieved is strikingly large. Thus, we should try our best in everything we do, no matter how short a time it may be for.
Once Arashi were seated, J moved on with his lesson. He brought out an envelope and saying that he had something amazing with him, a letter to himself, written 10 years ago. He said his classmates had all agreed to write letters to their 10-year-later selves, and the letter had been kept at one of his friends houses and only returned to him this year, 10 years after it had been written. The whole Dome was amazed, and even more amazed when J said that he was going to read it aloud to everyone present. Instead of Nino interrupting J and asking to read it for him (like he did at all the Tokyo showings), J actively asked Nino to read the letter in his place, saying that if he had to read it himself he’d get embarrassed.
(.゚ー゚) しょうがねーな!
I guess that can’t be helped! *smirks*
(`・3・´) 柔らかいな〜!
How sweet~!
J passed the envelope to Nino, who happily accepted it pulled out the 3 pieces of paper. Nino flipped through the contents again and then stood at his desk with J's letter, ready to read it aloud. J stood at his teacher's podium and prompted Nino to begin reading. What Nino read this time was the same as what he read in the last two Tokyo showings. See the report for the very first Tokyo showing for the full letter.

2004年1月16日の松本潤。
This is Jun Matsumoto from January 16, 2004.
(Broken up according to how Nino read it. Kind of funny to see J pretending that it was the first time he was hearing this letter, since he had already heard it 3 times in Tokyo...)
After this, the members commented that it was a very well written letter, and that J was very earnest. Sho asked whether J had written it with the intention of it being read out, but J said he had written it entirely for himself only. J thanked Nino for reading it and also thanked the rest of Arashi/us fans for helping many of the things he had written in his letter come true.
He then moved on, saying that he had requested for everyone in the audience to have brought along with them a letter to themselves 10 years later, and asked if anyone in the audience wanted to read theirs out (heaps of people put up their hands!). J commented that there were many people who had come in home-made costumes and Arashi said they saw and said they were really amazing. Then, J read out a seat number and the spotlight fell upon the lucky (?) person. While a member of staff helped the girl put on headphones and gave her a mic, J commented that she was wearing and must be a fan of Aiba. Once she was all set up, J said hello, asked if she had enjoyed herself thus far, where she had come from, whether she had come with a friend, etc. and then asked who her favourite member in Arashi was. She said “Nino!” and Arashi (especially Aiba) looked shocked XD
(‘◇‘) !!!
(‘◇‘) 勝手に振られたそう...
It feels like I’ve just been dumped...
(.゚ー゚) わるいことじゃない!
This isn’t a bad thing!
(Actually the girl had started crying (probably of happiness from being able to chat with her favourite member T__T)
J asked if she was ready to read her letter, and she said okay and started to read. After she read it, she conversed with J a little more, with J commenting about the parts of her letter he thought were good and ending their conversation with “Good luck, I’ll be supporting you.” When they were done talking...
(‘◇‘) Can I ask you again? Who is your favourite?
Girl: Nino!
(.゚ー゚) *smirks*
(‘◇‘) そうですね...変わらないですね...
I see...It won’t change, huh...
We laughed, and then J moved on, asking us to reflect on the letters that we had written, and write a list of things we could do to try move forwards in achieving the goals that we had set for ourselves. Then, he said that he wanted the Arashi members to experience the benefits of this activity (sending your future self a message) too, and said that he’d make a video recording of one of the members giving their 10-year-later selves a message, and keep the footage until 2023 before showing it to them again. The member he chose for today was Ohno. When Ohno heard his name, he got up and stood to the side of the stage (except he stood in the wrong place so J had to get him to move over once the video camera was prepared XD).
(.゚ー゚) 10年後...先生は68歳...?
10 years later Sensei will be...68?
(´・∀・`) 違う。42!
No, 42!
As J made his final adjustments, Ohno signalled that he was ready to film his video message. (The monitors displayed the footage as J was seeing it, and J did zoom out and move around at times to capture the remaining 3 members at their desks derping in the background.)
どうも。大野君。
今君は、10年前の僕を見て、感極まって泣いていることでしょう。
Hello, Ohno-kun.
Right now you’re looking at your 10-year-ago self and crying because you’re filled with emotion, right?
その涙を待ちましょう。
そろそろ泣き止んだかな?
まだ泣いてるんだね。
Let’s wait for those tears.
...You should stop crying soon, right?
Ah, you’re still crying huh...
(.゚ー゚) いいよ、もう
Cut it out (with this crying talk) already.

Haven’t you gotten a little thin?
Well, even if 10 years have passed, you’re still active with Arashi, right?
You’re still doing concerts although you're running out of breath, right?
まぁそれが、今思う、僕の10年後の君です。

ただそれだけでござます。
Well, that’s my image of my 10-year-later self.
I’m happy if it comes true. Also, well, that’s the only thing I hope for, in health.
なので、ま、人生いろいろあるとおもいますが、楽しんでください。

Therefore, well, I think a lot of things happen in life, so please enjoy yourself.
Sorry for the air of superiority.

今の僕が言えることはそれだけです。
Also, please sleep in a bed.
This is all I can say.
夢は、世界の大野になってください。
My dream is to become a worldly Ohno.
バーイ!
Byeeee!
With this, Ohno ended his message with a wave to his 2023 self. During his video message, Nino and Sho had been laughing at their desks and Aiba had been waving. When it felt like Ohno was running out of things to say to himself, Nino began pretending to wind a crank (suggesting that it was time to warp things up) and Sho was holding up his lesson folder XD At some point J turned the camera to show the audience in the Dome, but Ohno turned the camera back onto himself and said that lately he wants to see the world, and often goes overseas (hence his dream).
(.゚ー゚) 何だ、これ?
What was that?
Ohno returned to his seat and J to his teacher’s podium. They chatted a bit more and then J got ready to conclude his lesson.
J brought up a slide that said 現在=PRESENT(プレゼント)and explained that ‘Present’ (in Japanese) is ‘Present’ in English, meaning that our ‘Present’ (time-wise) is a gift we give to our future selves. (Wow this is difficult to explain in English, haha.) He concluded his lesson here with the following quote, and then introduced the final teacher, Ohno Sensei (cue exchange of positions & change of clothes)!
「時間は二度と戻らない、大切な財産(潤)」
(Time will never return for a second time, it is a precious possession.--- Jun)
Lesson #5: Ohno Sensei - ワイワイ (Wai Wai)
Ohno’s lesson was about friendship, and he started off by asking what the members thought of when he said ‘Friendship’. The members yelled suggestions again.
(.゚ー゚) Sports! Olympics!
(`∀´ル) Friends!
(‘◇‘) Members!
(`・3・´) In other words...Arashi, yeah! *fist pumps*
Then, Ohno asked the members of Arashi why they thought they had become friends with each other.
(.゚ー゚) 出会ったから
Because we were able to meet.
(`・3・´) ずっといるから
Because we’re always together.
(‘◇‘) 子供のときから!
Because (we’ve been together) since childhood!
Ohno said he figured it out, deciding to show us the answer through a VTR, which was filmed on the same day they recorded the VSA episode where Ohno is in a T-shirt with the bikini print on it. Ohno appeared on screen in a lion headgear, saying “Roar!” and ‘clawing’ at the camera. He explained that he was dressed up because he was going to scare the members as they made a turn at the end of a hallway. It was an experiment to see what kind of reactions each member would have.
First was J, who walked down the hallway and turned right (facing away from where Ohno was hiding) so Ohno ran up to him from behind and roared. J yelped and pressed himself against the wall.
(`∀´ル) 何をしてんるよ?!
What are you doing?!
(´・∀・`) ありがとうございます!
Thank you!
Next was Sho, who walked down the hallway and turned right (facing the direction where Ohno was hiding), running right into Ohno, who roared and caused Sho to yelp and take a step backwards in shock.
(`・3・´) うそっ!
You’re kidding me, right?
(´・∀・`) お疲れ様です〜
Thank you for your hard work~
(`・3・´) マジびっくりした!
I was seriously shocked!
Next, Nino (the best omfg). Nino walked down the hallway lazily and turned right, right into Ohno who roared and caused Nino to yelp, assume a fighting pose and step backwards. The VTR had been edited so that Nino’s action of assuming a fighting pose was repeated 3 times. The Dome exploded in laughter (it was adorable!!!).
(.゚ー゚) 何?!
What (WTF?!)
(.゚ー゚) 撮ってんだよ?!
You filmed it?!
(´・∀・`) 以上。
That’s all.
(.゚ー゚) 以上?!もう帰るよ。
‘That’s all’?! (Screw this) I’m going home.
Finally Aiba walked down the hallway and turned left, so Ohno chased after him and roared. Aiba turned around in fright, raised his arms up halfway to a fighting pose and stepped a few steps backwards (kind of like when he was scared on that Aiba Manabu episode when he was trying to sneak into the house but was caught). According to Ohno’s analysis, Aiba “assumes a fighting pose and then runs away like an おネエ (girly homosexuals)”
(‘◇‘) おっ!びっくりした!
Oh! You surprised me!
(´・∀・`) 以上。
That’s all.
(‘◇‘) 以上?!(笑)行こう、VSに。
‘That’s all’?! (Laugh) Let’s go to VS (Arashi filming).
Aiba put his arm on Ohno’s back and led him back down the hallway (towards the VS Arashi studio, I assume).
→ gifs of VTR
Nino and Aiba pointed and laughed at each other’s reactions. The VTR replayed the scare footage of all 4 members once again, whilst Ohno voiceover-ed saying that from his little experiment he realised that each of the members had a different reaction, because each member has a different personality. He then showed us another VTR, which revealed what Ohno thought each member’s personality was. Each member’s segment started with a photo from the time Ohno (aged 15) first met them (Nino, aged 13; Sho, aged 14; Aiba, aged 13; Jun, aged 13), and naturally, the Dome exploded with *kyaa*s at all the chibi footage. After the initial stills there was a few short clips of footage of each member during their chibi times, e.g. Nino/Aiba bowling, Nino/Aiba/J snowboarding, etc.) and then Ohno revealed his analysis of each member’s personality. There was a small window in the bottom right hand corner of the monitors showing the member’s reactions to the VTR.
First up was Nino. According to Ohno, Nino’s personality is キメ顔 (roughly translated... ‘Camwhore’ perhaps? There’s no word in English for it, but this word describes somebody who always poses when they’re faced with a camera.) To support his conclusion, there were various clips of Nino striking a pose (whether it be a smile or saluting) whenever he realised there was a camera filming him. Nino’s segment ended with Ohno saying ありがとう、キメ顔!(Thank you, (personality)!)
Next was Sho. In the VTR Ohno said that his first impression of Sho was “He looks like my friend Nori-kun!” According to Ohno, Sho’s personality is タンクトップ (Tank Top). As for why... The VTR showed a still from an old magazine shoot of Sho when he was 13 or 14, at first just showing his head. And then it zoomed out, revealing that Sho was dressed in a bright yellow tank top. According to Ohno’s voiceover in the VTR, that was the very first time he saw Sho in a tank top. Following this was footage from various concerts, showing that each member’s costumes had sleeves and Sho’s was always the only one that was sleeveless. Sho himself looked quite surprised to see each of his sleeveless costumes being revealed.
(`・3・´) おかしいな、袖がない!
This is weird, I have no sleeves! :O
After the concert footage, Ohno voiceover-ed that it seems that Sho loves tank tops so much that he even goes as far as Wタンクトップ (Double Tank Top), and showed a series of stills from a recent magazine shoot where Sho was indeed wearing two tank tops. Sho’s segment ended with Ohno saying ありがとう、タンクトップ!(Thank you, Tank Top!)
(`・3・´) ありがとう!
Thank you!
After Sho was Aiba. According to Ohno, Aiba’s personality is 汗 (Sweat).
(‘◇‘) これは個性?
This is a personality?
Ohno compiled various footage from past concerts, from when Aiba was still a Junior, and showed that he was the only one with a face full of sweat.
(‘◇‘) ライブだから!
(That’s) because it was a Live!
(.゚ー゚) *nods*
However, Ohno acknowledged this point in his voiceover, moving on from concerts to footage from a guest appearance Aiba made on a TV program Tetsuko no Heya, where Aiba’s ‘ability’ to sweat super easily was pointed out by the host.
(‘◇‘) これやばいよ!
This is bad!
Aiba looked embarrassed reflecting on this footage, but then the footage moved on to show Aiba and Tetsuko holding fans and fanning each other XD Aiba’s segment ended with Ohno saying ありがとう、汗!(Thank you, Sweat!)
Finally, J. When the image of 13 year old J popped up, almost-30 year old J copied the post, resting his chin on his hands (*insert kyaas*). According to Ohno, J’s personality is どこでも脱ぐ (Strips Anywhere), to which J looked extremely shocked. Naturally the VTR was a compilation of footage from concerts dating as far back as when J was 14, with Ohno’s commentary (松潤だけ!Only Matsujun (strips!)) and a convenient ‘countdown until stripping’ in the bottom left hand corner. Footage from last year’s Shake It! (from Arafes) was also included, and J looked embarrassed the whole time he was watching the VTR. J’s segment ended with Ohno saying ありがとう、どこでも脱ぐ!(Thank you, Strips Anywhere!)
The ‘Personality VTR’ ended with Ohno saying that Arashi’s friendship can be thought of as a product of destiny, that they were lucky enough to be put into the same group and meet each other. It was really moving, and everyone in the Dome applauded the VTR. However, as soon as the VTR ended and the applause faded, Nino complained, saying that the VTR was no good. Ohno pointed out that we had all applauded, so it must have been good, but Nino said that the VTR inaccurately represented the member’s personalities, and that the only reason the audience was applauding was because Ohno had ended the VTR with a heartwarming statement. Ohno expressed that he didn’t think there was a problem with his VTR, but the members continued to attack it.
(.゚ー゚) あなたの個性いったい何?
What on earth is your personality?
Ohno said that you cant know your own personality, so asked the Arashi members to think of what their Leader’s personality should be.
(`・3・´) ありがとう、鼻をほじる!
Thank you, nose-picker!
Ohno said that it has to be something natural, and Sho said that it was, that it’s super often that he sees Ohno picking his nose XD To this, J sounded shocked because it implied that he ‘naturally’ strips everywhere XD
(`∀´ル) どういうこと?!
What does that mean?!
But they concluded that it’s okay because he strips because he is feeling hot XD
They talked a bit more about each other’s ‘Personalities’, next deciding to poke fun at each other (well mostly Nino and Aiba’s) fright reactions, since Ohno said that they revealed their differing personalities too. Nino said that he didn’t flinch that much, compared to Aiba, and said Aiba’s reaction was too big. Aiba didn’t sound too happy that the VTR implied there was an onee part to his personality, but when Nino questioned him and asked what he saw in his own fright reaction, Aiba admitted he did look like an onee XD
They ended the ‘personality’ segment hereand Ohno moved on to the next part of his lesson, where he said that he wanted to help us all become friends with Arashi. During the VTRs 5 coloured flags had been brought out by the staff and planted at 5 points around the stage. Ohno used these as markers to divide the Dome into 5 groups, and then assigned each group (A~E) an action.
He taught each group their actions one by one and got us to practice them (there was a window displayed on the monitors to help us with the timing) along with the ‘metronome’ beat that was played. Group A was asked to clap in time with the metronome beat. Ohno assigned Sho to Group A. Next was group B, who were taught to stomp their feet (while seated) in turn (alternating). Ohno assigned Aiba to Group B. Group C was also asked to clap, but on the off-beats instead. Nino was assigned to Group C. Group D was asked to do finger clicks (alternating left and right), with J assigned as the member in charge. The last group, Group E, was asked to slap their thighs, left-right-left and was led by Ohno.
Group | Action | Member in Charge |
A | Clapping (on-beat) | Sho |
B | Food stomping | Aiba |
C | Clapping (off-beat) | Nino |
D* | Finger clicks/snaps (off-beat) | J |
E | Thigh slapping | Ohno |
Once everyone had been taught their actions, Ohno started up the metronome beat and got Sho to direct Group A to start clapping along to the beat (a countdown for when each group should start doing their actions appeared on the monitors). Once Group A was in sync, Group B started, then C, D, etc. Sho forewarned Group A that they’d be clapping for quite a while and to be prepared.
(`・3・´) 自分のペースで行きましょう!
Let’s go at your own pace!
Once all 5 groups were doing their actions, Ohno announced that Arashi would now sing a song, and the backing music to A.RA.SHI was played. Arashi sang the first verse of the song whilst we all continued with our actions, and then once the verse was over Ohno got us all to stop, congratulated us and said that now we had all become friends with Arashi. Aiba proudly announced that the B group had even done the hand actions for the ‘Arashi Arashi for dream’ line since their hands were free XD
With this activity, Ohno Sensei ended his lesson. He mentioned that Arashi’s Furusato had been chosen for this years Uta Gassen and how in creating the choir for singing this song they needed to recruit all types of people, with all types of voices. He summed up, saying how it was important for us to recognise and accept each other’s differences and personalities.
「嵐は5つの個性。違いを認め合うことこそが、仲間の印(智)」
(Arashi is made up of 5 personalities. Our friendship is marked by the accepting and understanding of their differences.--- Satoshi)
The school chime sounded again signalling the end of lessons and Arashi lined up on stage as they had done so at the beginning. They thanked us for our attention and then said that they’d like to end today’s Waku Waku Gakkou with the Waku Waku Gakkou School Song (ふるさと Furusato). The lights in the Dome dimmed and they started to sing (live!). Immediately, pen lights were pulled out (fangirls are amazing...) and we enjoyed their performance. They got us to sing along to a few lines in the second verse, and walked off the stage to various points around the Dome to wave at everyone as they sang. As the song ended, two trailer vans entered the Dome (in different directions) and the members climbed onto them (J and Nino on one and the rest on the other). Sho walked to the trailer in his signature Yoshimoto gait. The vans did a full circle of the Dome, letting the members get around the whole Dome and wave to everyone. Whilst on the trailers, the members expressed their thank yous, wished us a safe journey home, and talked about various important points from each others’ lessons.
As the trailers finished their round trip of the Dome and returned to the point they had entered from, Arashi stood together as 5 and one by one reminded us what their lessons today had been. After this, Sho asked us to stand up, we bowed and said thank you to the Senseis and then Waku Waku Gakkou ended! The members left the trailers one by one and said their final goodbyes. They walked through a door to leave the Dome, and Ohno and Sho were the last to go through. Sho went in ahead of Ohno, and Ohno (last to leave) stood at the door (a sliding door) and waved the final goodbye (Sho held the door open for him) and then wiped his nose and pulled a face. He stood there making a face for a few seconds while the Dome laughed and clapped and waved goodbye, and then Sho closed the door on him XD
Once they had left, another VTR was played on the monitors, showing the members in paint overalls standing over a white coloured banner. It turns out that the Waku Waku Gakkou banner which had been hung in the Dome between the Headmasters’ Portraits and the School Motto had been painted by Arashi themselves ^^
Other things:
→ Whenever Nino was a student, i.e. sitting at his desk, he was almost always with a pen in hand, writing in his folder. I don't think any of the other members even had pens at their desks. After much speculation about what Nino could possibly have been doing, there are a few possibilities. 1) He just likes to write. 2) He's writing song lyrics. 3) He's taking notes... (about the lesson or the event in general I don't know).
→ From after his own lesson to pretty much the end of the event, Aiba would be periodically reaching under his desk for a face towel and wiping his sweat XD
→ Already pointed this out, but the Osaka lessons progressed really quickly and kind of felt rushed!

I hope that through this report you can gain a sense of having learnt something from Arashi, because I do think that each and every one of their lessons were interesting, and that their ‘Quotable Summary’ of their lessons are quite meaningful :)
Next Osaka report will be up ASAP! I hope you enjoyed this one :D
